About the Role
The Program Officer, Career Mentoring coordinates career mentoring programs, alumni panels and employability events, connecting students with industry and alumni to enhance their career prospects.

This role specifically supports the Widening Participation student cohort through the Access Connections mentoring program. This program is an important part of the Narrm Scholars Enrichment package.

The role involves building relationships across the University, providing guidance, and supporting alumni-to-student initiatives in collaboration with Faculties and Alumni Relations.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Support existing programs and activities that link alumni to students for the purpose of career exploration, professional networks, and employability development, including sourcing and contacting appropriate alumni for involvement in mentoring and career events
  • Develop expertise in the management of the Chronus mentoring platform, especially in platform configuration, and user support.
  • Contribute to the development of initiatives working collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure a student centred and coordinated approach to services and programs that optimises access to information for students, staff and alumni.
  • Build strong working relationships and networks with key stakeholders across Student Success, Faculties, Advancement and student and alumni audiences

Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team. They excel in stakeholder management and possess strong communication skills to engage with a variety of audiences.

You will also have:

  • A Bachelor's degree and/or extensive relevant experience in design and delivery of career mentoring and/or employability initiatives for tertiary students.
  • Demonstrated strong organisational and project management skills, including the ability to plan, prioritise, monitor and evaluate projects with competing deadlines.
  • Competency and experience in using online platforms and managing CRM platforms
  • Demonstrated experience in student programming within an employability context.

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
