About the Role

The Associate Director, Clinical Education Strategy and Risk at the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences plays a critical role in providing strategic leadership for the Faculty’s clinical education portfolio, with a strong focus on quality education and placements. Reporting to the Academic Director CESAR, this role is pivotal in driving excellence in clinical education through innovative risk management, strategic alignment, and collaborative partnerships across the University and beyond. The incumbent will lead a team to ensure effective incident management, compliance, and continuous improvement in educational practices.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Drive the strategic planning for clinical education across the Faculty MDHS by integrating University strategies, government policies and national and international benchmarks, with risk mitigation strategies identified through clinical education risk reporting processes
  • Manage and maintain risk reporting and the MDHS clinical education risk register with transparent, responsive and timely strategic alignment.
  • Ensure effective communication and support is provided to all clinical education support staff in Schools, and the Faculty. 

Who We Are Looking For

You will demonstrate strong autonomous judgment, leadership, and problem-solving skills to develop and implement innovative policies and solutions, while effectively leading administrative support functions and fostering a collaborative work environment. You will also excel in managing change, engaging with diverse stakeholders, and building strong business partnerships.

You will also have:

  • A tertiary qualification or other comparable qualification, and/or extensive experience in a similar role at a senior level in the tertiary education sector
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic and operational plans and business process and systems improvement, to ensure the delivery of programs and services on time with enhanced service delivery outcomes
  • Understanding of the disciplines and professions represented in the MDHS award courses (health care, population health and biomedical sciences) is highly desirable.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
